The amendment of the Building Energy Act (GEG) has led to calls for state subsidies for building renovations. Which funding programmes are available and which are suitable for which project? The funding compass summarises the BAFA grant programmes and offers initial orientation.

The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) implements numerous funding programmes for the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK). These make an important contribution to climate protection and the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The funding compass provides orientation on the various programmes in the areas of energy and the economy. It is aimed at private households and SMEs. The funding compass lists the various programmes and provides information on eligibility, funding amounts and contact options.

The programmes ensure more energy efficiency, more renewable energies and benefit climate protection. These include federal funding for efficient buildings, energy advice for residential buildings and energy advice for non-residential buildings, plants and systems, or the environmental bonus, which promotes electric mobility.

The Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings (BEG) and the Energy Advice Programme are the central funding instruments in the area of energy-efficient building refurbishment and the National Climate Protection Programme 2030. The BEG offers support for the energy-efficient refurbishment of buildings, helps to permanently save energy costs and protect the climate. The target group of the programmes are all investors of eligible measures on residential and non-residential buildings, for example homeowners, businesses, non-profit organisations and municipalities.
