Königstein is certainly the most renowned city in the Taunus hills, which lie like a protective belt around Frankfurt's west side. Due to its prominent location on the Feldberg route between Frankfurt and the highest hills of the Taunus, for many centuries it has been a popular destination for "the people from the valley cauldron". Biking and hiking trails that are sufficient for a lifetime without getting boring, events around the famous castle or on the part of local clubs, as well as a very good school supply from kindergarten to high school make it one of the most popular residential cities in Frankfurt " commuter belt ".
