Living on the water holds a great fascination for many people - houseboats, floating houses and now even huge floating properties with everything needed for everyday life. A shipyard is showing the real estate industry: this is also a way to create living space!
Experiments with new forms of living arouse curiosity and offer alternatives to the conventional - for example, the houseboats in Denmark, Amsterdam or Seattle and also the ultra-modern floating houses of Gebr. The Meyer Werft in Papenburg has now crowned these individual solutions, so to speak.
The MEYER Group, one of the leading shipbuilding companies with three modern large shipyards in Europe, has merged with ADMARES Marine, the world market leader for floating properties. Headquartered in Turku, Finland, the new company is called MEYER Floating Solutions and focuses on the design and manufacture of high-quality floating properties.
The joint venture intends to use its extensive know-how from building large cruise ships, among other things, to develop floating solutions for residential construction and much more. This is based on the expectation that the construction of real estate on water will grow exponentially. High-quality real estate in excellent locations would make it more valuable to build on the water than on the waterfront.
Compared to conventional construction, the company's advanced production methods allow for shorter delivery times and minimise the impact on the environment, as traditional construction sites can be almost completely avoided. MEYER Floating Solutions offers a wide range of floating properties, from private villas and hotels to the largest overwater facilities in the world, and also serves clients looking for fully customised overwater solutions.
Under the motto "Sustainable lifestyle on the water", the entire life cycle of the products is designed to minimise environmental impact.
